How to Score by Voice

Keep your phone in your pocket and score hands-free.

🎤 Before You Start

Allow microphone access when prompted — VoiceScore needs it to hear your scores.

If you accidentally denied it, go to Settings → Safari → Microphone and enable it for voicescore.app.

1. Wake Word

Say "VoiceScore" then pause 0.5 to 1 second to let it register before speaking your score.

2. Solo Round

Say the wake word then your score:

"VoiceScore... I got a birdie"

"VoiceScore... I got a 5"

"VoiceScore... par"

3. Multiple Players

Say all players in one breath after the wake word:

"VoiceScore... Dustin got a 5 Brian got a par Scott got a bogey"

4. Score Words

All of these work: eagle, birdie, par, bogey, double, triple — or just say the number like "got a 4".

5. Fixing a Mistake

Made an error? Just say:

"VoiceScore... on hole 5 Dustin actually got a bogey"

It will correct the score and you can keep playing.

6. Ask Questions

VoiceScore can answer mid-round:

"VoiceScore... what's my score"

"VoiceScore... what are the standings"

"VoiceScore... how many birdies do I have"

"VoiceScore... what hole am I on"

Tips for Best Results

• Speak clearly and at a normal pace

• On windy days, turn slightly away from the wind

• Give the wake word a full second before your score

• If the mic stops, tap the mic button to re-activate

• VoiceScore keeps your screen on automatically during a round — no need to change any settings

• You can score with your screen locked — say VoiceScore and your score normally. Score readback still works but the listening beeps won't play

• VoiceScore stops listening about 2.5 seconds after you finish speaking — no need to tap anything
